Increase the homeless population.
Do what everybody else does that lives in SF. Move in to someplace w five roommates, live with mom and dad, or find a nice spot under the highway and pitch a tent
Can confirm, this is the only way it’s affordable.
Reroll your character for the “trust fund baby” perk.
I have a roommate. We live in a beautiful building with a ton of amenities in an upscale neighborhood.
I use public transit when I can. People default to Uber’s, but there are a ton of buses and muni here in addition to BART.
It seems like it's almost impossible to live in SF on entry level consulting wages (and probably not worth it either).
I wouldn’t say impossible. I have lots of friends living on audit salaries (low 60ks) but they definitely live pay check to pay check and aren’t saving at all.
Find a place that is under rent control. Find out your apartment is illegally rented out and get evicted. End up in a 4K apartment anyway.
But, also don’t live in SF. Live in Oakland or South Bay. Downsize by selling things you don’t really need (ie if you have a Ninja blender that you’ve only used once). Reduce unnecessary spending on alcohol, coffee, or eating out.
Buy a camper to live in and park on the street somewhere in Mountain View. Plenty of people do this near Google
No
Oakland
1) Buy a boat and live on it in a harbor — Half Moon Bay comes to mind. 2) Buy/Rent an RV and live in it parked on the street of a suburb.
