Drunkenly diving into a Chicken Cottage 3-piece meal at a bus stop at 2am, waiting for the night bus after a messy one at Infernos. Bonus points if it’s raining and/or you’re waving your chicken drumstick around while trying to chat someone up with your slurring inebriated speech.

Yep, in ML. This was summer 2019. I grew to hate Chicken Cottage on that project, but my associate loved it and he was a good sport for staying late.

Commuting to work on the Central Line in summer. I recommend (avoiding) it.

Take the Thames Clipper boat (also called Uber Boat) from The o2 to Westminster or further to Battersea. It’s fairly cheap and a great way to see the city.

This! Do it with everyone who visits and it's like 7 quid 😁

Also maybe everyone isn’t weird like me but I love going to watch a trial at the Old Bailey or Court of Appeals. It’s first person drama and totally fascinating.

Yes. You can’t have a functioning independent judiciary without allowing people to walk in and watch.

The cockpit, lookup ‘theatre in the pound’ - it’s montly not-for-profit night, designed for individuals or groups of performers to try out or showcase new work. They usually have like a few performances and they could be anything, they ask audience for feedback afterwards (though you’re free to not say anything and just enjoy wine). I found it really cool to see performances at different stages of the process and the artistic decisions that get discussed.

The Tower of London is underrated as excellent tourism full of important history.

There are a lot of "touristy" things that are actually a lot of fun. I really enjoyed the Tower Bridge tour. Add to that the Tower of London. Tons of fun (at least pre-COVID, not sure if they currently have actors there recreating famous moments in history). Museums are great. Lunch / tea on Thames tours are also fun. And high tea bus tours

I’d say Shakespeare’s globe is pretty unique to London

I haven't taken a single vacation or sick day in over a year. I'll lateraling to another firm next month (pending conflicts). Would it be in poor taste schedule a vacation prior to giving my two weeks notice? I love my group and I don't want to burn bridges.

Hi everyone! I’m a young CPA, relocating to Raleigh. I made the decision to transition into sales after realizing that I want to bring more fun into my career. I’m currently reading sales books, watching Keenan’s YouTube channel, and learning all I can. I’m relentlessly applying for SDR positions but I’m having trouble landing interviews (been applying through LinkedIn). I would appreciate advice from anyone who transitioned from another industry into sales. How did you break the barrier?

I’ve recently been offered a new job in Industry. It’s a good senior level leadership position working with smart people. The trouble is I actually really love my current consulting position but often find myself feeling burnt out. For context I’m a single mom with two young school age children and have found this past year particularly challenging. As I’m truly on the fence, what out my options internally? I’m scared to even mention the opportunity.

I’ve got a relatively minor medical procedure scheduled before Thanksgiving, and I just signed a new job offer. Is it cool to bring this up during start date discussions? Would ideally recuperate for a week before starting officially and getting on boarded. TIA!
