Apologies for a qn asked a lot of times on the bowl so far. Global Entry - once police verification is done, how long does it take before CBP confirms you can apply for an interview (I.e., how long does the Indian process take)? I am going to apply for I485 soon, so contemplating if it’s worth the effort of doing the whole India thing
Yeah - don’t lie on the application
My brother (US citizen) is getting married in India to an Indian citizen without a current US visa. We’re trying to figure out the best and quickest way to bring her to the states after the wedding.
My hubby is an American citizen and I am Canadian. The process is pretty standard for most countries, at least I would think.
My biggest tip would be to go to the interview as prepared as possible. This includes taking pictures, call logs, wedding invitation, receipts (gifts, outings, etc). I went to my interview overly prepared and they only asked me a few basic questions. I had a friend who went equally prepared and they asked her A LOT (luckily, she had everything on hand).
Also, not sure if this is applicable in your case but avoid having her visit you here in the states. In my case, the immigration lawyer strongly suggested that I avoid crossing the boarder during processing.
And as stated above, don’t lie. I’ve heard of a case where they lied (for no apparent or valid reason) and the process was drawn out for 7 years!
