Should this be a red flag?

I've applied myself and haven't heard a peep, but I don't for a second think I stand a chance. So, I'm just curious if anyone has any light they might be able to shed as to the persistence of this open role. I know it's hard to find the right fit, but this is weird...

I terminated a former employee for consistently missing deadlines, v. poor quality of work (basic spelling mistakes), costed me $500k in errors and subsequently called him a “bottom-tier performer” to my girlfriend. Girlfriend thinks I’m being mean and not kind by calling people that because she thinks I’m putting them down. Note: never called any other team members that because they do good work. I don’t think I’ve said anything out of line - am I in the wrong here?

I truly wish I had chosen a different career path. To lose my passion for the only thing I’ve ever truly loved or excelled at (writing) is heartbreaking. I think maybe I should have been an accountant and written on the side.

Hi everyone, happy Saturday!
This career move might seem a bit odd, but I am looking to go from engineering (structural) to strategic marketing. Has anyone ever made such a jump? I have been taking some online courses in content marketing, brand management, and digital marketing. Any advise, recommendations, or referrals would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I interviewed for Data Analyst role at EY, it went well and the job sounds great, but I'm a bit hesitant to leave PwC because I really like the firm and I'm just 8 months in my job as an associate at a subgroup of ITS that has some focus on technology and analytics but it's mostly tax compliance.

I do want to transition to data analytics but I'm not sure if it's a good idea to go to another big 4, or maybe just look for a position in industry.

Any advice or similar experience?
