I’m working through this same thing at my VC firm. Practitioner-led shop where it seems like the partners already have all the connections. But I’ve done a few specific things that I can share. Happy to hop on a call and compare notes with you.

Interviewed for Deloitte Tech Strategy SC and got a verbal offer for Consultant instead. I negotiated the offer to 120K salary and 10K signing bonus. I’m a boomerang with 4 years ERP consulting but this past year I’ve been doing DEI Consulting. Spoke with former colleagues who rejoined Deloitte and got much higher offers for SC. How do I go back to the recruiter to negotiate further? I suggested that I’d probably sign but needed time to think. Now I’d like to go back and request 140k salary.
