Any visa holders here who have rental investments? What’s on the realm of what’s permitted and what’s not? I’ve read online that you can have rental investments and property managers but can’t actively manage it.

I think that active property management cannot be your main source of income since your work visa is granted based on your employment to a specific company. But honestly nothing to worry about

I am a visa holder. I interact directly with my tenant. It has not been an issue for me

I’m waiting on approval for an H1B petition (using the balance of a previous visa, so cap exempt & I’m cautiously optimistic about approval). I’m a dual NZ and Canadian citizen currently resident in Canada. I’ve heard (deep in the internet 😂) that Canadian citizens don’t need visa stamping - just present all the documents at a port of entry. Can this be true?

In the past 3 years my coworkers started to follow me on instagram. Due past bullying situations on different jobs, I didn't want to, but ended up accepting their request (dont like to mix private life with work life). 3 months ago, I decided not only to remove them but to block them. I think my boss discovered cause she's acting more cold/distant to me (she was very friendly). Now I dont know if I did the right thing...

For those of you who got out at 10, do you wish that you rode it out to 20? I’m at a crossroad and I’m not sure what to do. Have some active/reserve time, wrapping up graduate school, and am now considering either a) come back to the business world or b) go active and retire before 50 and live off a nice pension. Obviously there are draws to both. I’m an officer for what it’s worth so I can realistically retire at O-5, MAYBE O-6.

We are currently on the waitlist for daycare/school for our second child (baby), at the same place first child is. A spot will be opening up soon but with omicron and how our older child's class keeps closing, I'm so torn. We currently have the grandparents watching the baby for now while we work but I can tell it's wearing on them, and it's a bit been distracting for me too. What would you do? Worried if we decline the spot it may be several months before available.

Decision - I was out the door of my nationwide ins dfense firm. Was going to top local firm with a lot more clout where everything would be private pay and I’d be more on bigger exposure cases. However, my firm outmatched the new firm, made a much better bonus structure, and said I could do more work with their complex bus lit group. I’d still likely do about 50 percent ins defense but I really like the partners I work for, and I handle own cases/take depos, and get autonomy. Am I right to stay?
