Need some advice on home office equipment and furniture. I have a second bedroom which I plan to place my desk and my stationary bike as we are still remote. I do want to upgrade and get a peloton bike but I am also looking at upgrading to a sitting/ standing desk with an added desk bike. Would this be redundant? Anyone who has a desk bike, do you actually use it while working?

Exciting news but also need some guidance-- after many many months of looking I received an offer from a small firm. Seems like a great opportunity ex big law folks, in my practice area, no billable requirement, culture embraces remote work, appearance of forward thinking firm. At last firm I was making around 140k (underpaid for market), offer letter is 85k and potential bump to 100kish after a certaib period. Do I bother trying to negotiateor just accept and leave money alone?

Just applied to Apple bank as an assistant branch manager while being an assistant branch manager who got a work from home assignment due to COVID and got denied because “ their preference is a candidate that has recent banking floor managerial experience.” while also having 4 years of assistant branch manager experience. Got denied cause I been working from home for 1.5 years I guess my experience is not “recent enough” but this is actually unheard of

How did you decide where to live? Have a young family, working remote, and currently living in a city. Looking to move to the suburbs but a bit overwhelmed with the number of options. Also struggling since we don’t live close to family and don’t like the areas family members currently live in.

In a month I’m moving to a new city for my husband’s job and I am fully remote. The only people I will know in that area are his parents. My closest friend will be a little over an hour away.
I’m looking for advice for finding new friends/a community while working remote and being in a new location. I’ll also be going from big city to suburbs so I won’t have the same access to a lot of events I preciously did where I would meet people.

If you have a workgroup license for Slack, doing group video calls and reviews on Slack is better in nearly every way compared to Zoom. You can start group calls in channels so people can hop in and out at will, drawing on shared screens is better, and sending links and files is much easier. I’ve moved all my video meetings there and we are way more productive vs. Zoom. (We save Zoom just for happy hour)

2.5 year old woke up yesterday during nap time and again in the middle of the night absolutely hysterical. In her crib screaming, couldn’t be calmed for close to ten minutes. Could not verbalize why / what was wrong. Is this likely to be nightmares? Anyone experienced this? Postpartum periods… were yours wonky? Pre-baby, my periods were like clockwork for years. Now, a few months pp, I got what I thought was my period and it lasted like a day and a half. A week later… sort of light period spotting again? I am partially breastfeeding (pumping) so I know my hormones are still out of whack. What were your experiences?

What are your guilty pleasures? We had a engagement workshop today, and this was the breakout session. There are quite a few new moms in the group, the answers were hilarious. Some said “eating cookies without being caught by her 3 yo”, other said “putting her toddler to bed early on Fridays to have wine”. Mine is hiding in the washroom to watch K-drama!
