Has anyone ever had any success in getting a delta base economy fare refunded? Am no longer going on a trip and wondering if I can get those points back that I used to cover the fare
Am I wrong in thinking that failing to follow up with a candidate after the initial phone screen (not the interview) is not a deadly sin? We talk to 30-40 people every week, and as much as we try, some people (especially the ones who show negative attitudes) do not hear back from us.
Just got rejected for a role in industry at a company I really wanted to work for. Feedback was that it doesnt look like the candidate has soft skills to report status to executives. I'm livid because that's literally my job now...and I have gotten praised by multiple EP and EM on my executive presence. Stupid zoom interviews dont do me justice :(
What are some skills that you took away from consulting outside of soft skills, PowerPoint, and Excel that have been useful in industry?
Advice needed! 🤚🏽 I work full time in NYC, have just been promoted to senior, completed two exams, and have to pass both FAR and BEC before my first exam credit expires on 12/31/20. How reasonable is it to assume I can pass the two exams by then? Especially considering full time work, new position, disruption in the exam process because of the pandemic, and other responsibilities. Also, I have other business opportunities I want to pursue. This is definitely weighting in on my decision.
Are utilization targets realistic given the amount of admin BS we also need to do e.g. Independence, R&Q, documentation, expenses and timesheets etc? End up overworked and overstressed
Question about Roth IRA. I contributed the max in 2018. Now, because of bonus and unexpected supplemental income, my 2018 gross wages were ~$130K. That is above the limit for Roth contributions...
Looking at the delta upgrade list, knowing flights are still being cancelled, and thinking "May the odds be ever in your favor".
Applied to a role earlier this week and the hiring manager for the role viewed my LinkedIn profile today. Since I haven’t gotten an email yet from them regarding a potential interview, would it be worth reaching out to the hiring manager on LinkedIn? Or is it better to wait to see if they reach out to me over the next few days?
Question for ex-consultants: do you feel your work now in industry is more exciting than before? WLB aside, do you get bored from the lack of variety in your industry job? If not, what kind of flexibility to try different roles/projects do you have?
Any advice on how to create a hard boundary with your family? I’m 1st gen in basically everything and have a close relationship with my family. However, we disagree on everything politically. It’s become so draining to get multiple texts of Fox News articles and rants from my parents when I’m trying to bill and work 12 hr days. It got to me today and I lost my entire day because of it. It’s exhausting and I don’t want politics to ruin our relationship. (Cont below)
What BI or Data analysis platforms do you work with daily? Did you have any experience with the platforms before working in B4?
My big struggle is whether to max my 401k and Roth IRA or try to save up for a down payment on a home. Anyone else thought through this? All the advice I’m reading ignores saving for a home.
A coworker who knows I have depression told another coworker about my medical condition. What should I do? I’m scared to stand up for myself...just thinking abt the conversation makes me nervous
