Yes. I feel this every single day. Constant positive feedback but continue to feel like a fraud.
That’s consulting, even for people who started this right after college and have been doing it for years. Every project is different and every time you have to figure it out quickly while the client thinks you’re already some kind of expert.

Imposter syndrome.
I was there also (same company and level as well). More people have it than you realize. You probably receive the good feedback due to your work ethic and general emotional intelligence apart from your peers as many of us do. As a manager, that’s more of what you will need than technical expertise. Use that for when you need those SMEs. You’re crushing it; just keep your head up.

Don’t worry about this feeling. It’s natural and honestly everyone from Analyst to Senior MDs / partners feel this way from time to time. Feel free to DM me if you want to chat more about it.
I have had to reframe what it is I do and offer. “I can learn anything faster than most people” and “I enjoy solving problems”. Why I add value is not what I know walking in but how quickly I can sponge up the info I need to solve their specific problem. What amazes me is how quickly I can learn more than client people that have years of head start.
It's good that you've figured out how this business works. Fake it till you make it is real.
