Hi, has anyone else been having difficulty securing a good job after graduating, and if so, how did you over come that challenge? I’m graduating in 2 weeks with a Poli Sci degree and I have had two separate interviews, the first being a very demanding law job that would have paid me almost 50% less than the pay rate of someone with experience—and the other a dead end because the interviewer felt my Poli Sci degree didn’t qualify me for a government job. (??) has anyone else experienced this?

Regarding salary, how does everyone approach conversations to ask for raises or ask for salary reviews? I know my pay is below the average listed on Glassdoor and as a new people leader and now know some of my directs make 5-6k less than me which is really close. Also learned I was the lowest paid member of my team before I was promoted and now I’m barely above them. I enjoy what I do but feel like I’m being overlooked/underpaid and not sure how to bring this up without causing friction. Help!
