Anybody else struggle speaking with offshore team? They don't really answer my questions directly and not the best at explaining things, I have to ask several times to get the answer from them. The communication is not the best despite us having our own internal meetings, the client asked about the progress of a task I wasn't even aware I had to do! The team knows what they're doing and do a great job, but communication can be so hard sometimes.

Any tips for developing a thicker skin at work? I have a really difficult time not taking it personally when those above me have a snippy, passive aggressive, taking stress out on their subordinates, or blunt communication style (especially over pings) - a lot of the time it doesn’t have to do with me (like they’re in a frustrated mood because of client delays) but it still really gets to me unless I know a concrete reason that doesn’t have to do with me that they’re acting that way

In my office we have a very small number of black people. I don’t know the exact numbers but it doesn’t seem like more than 10. All of them I know >3 are on a personal improvement plan for very basic reasons. One faced blatant racism and was placed off the project. Therefore it was harder for this person to find a new project. How to investigate if this is correlates with microagressions and discrimination towards black people? Any ideas? How to convince non POC that this is a problem?

I'm from a warmer climate and just got assigned to a client in the northeast for the winter. I'll mostly only have to travel for meetings, where a suit/ dress is necessary, but I'm not sure what kind of shoes to wear if it's cold or snowing. The only flats I have (rothys) work well with skinny pants, but look weird with trousers and might not work for snow.

What shoes do you ladies usually pair with suits in the winter? Not a big fan of heels.

I recently started a new sales position, and I know I’m making a lower commission rate than my male counterparts. Could be that I’m new, and they decided to lower it and not because I’m a female. My direct manager is trying to adjust it because we were both told 1% and when my commission started I was at .8%. Any advice would help, I never signed anything that had a commission rate on it. But I’m pretty sure our base as a company has always been 1%.
