Anybody else super excited after graduating college and starting work, and then vastly disappointed with what your career ended up actually being?

Took me 4 years to get my accounting degrees. Took me 5 years to burn out in public, and I crashed hard and fast. Now I’d rather do literally anything else. I don’t think I could audit anymore with rude clients and lazy staff if you paid me a million dollars.

It’s a pretty harsh reality, right? It doesn’t help the extravagance and glamour that big 4 and other PA firms build up the profession to have. Very tough for a college kid to see right through that.

like

No. It was exactly as expected. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I started there as well. They rank just out of the Big4 nationally, and rotate the same few spots with their closest competitors with capabilities to compete internationally as well. For purposes of this discussion - you should expect most of what you’ll get from Grant because they are larger. So again... smaller firms tend to have more unpredictable shifts in dynamics, and the extent of the impact is harder to foretell. We’re all glad no one fooled you ;p

Every day.
