No but i am curious about different strategies company’s will use to keep talent if any. So far they are fine with letting people walk even with “record high” earnings.
Agree. I think they’re just trying to weather the storm.
Not directly. But retention bonuses which I assume are related to this
Never had a direct discussion. Bonus was a little over $50k for 18 month term
FYI if you’re offered more money to stay, don’t accept. But maybe see if you can get some more $$ from the new gig
Pay has not been communicated here but the raises are not good this year. Less than inflation.
Likely the current CPI sitting around 7%
The discussion was about the recognition of my below Market salary and the fact that other places are paying up for sign in bonuses. It was basically about him recognizing the market dynamics, and trying to communicate that to the founder for better pay.
No, what was the talk lol
My work is avoiding the conversation like the plague. They didn’t give people much raises and don’t seem to want to accept that many many people have left and everyone is working quadruple time. It’s very odd to me.
Say more! If anything I think my company would probably delay bonus payouts to keep us around longer
Sounds counterintuitive
I need to hear more lol
Drop more details down below. Would love to hear more
Just been granted a bit more carry than I expected - I think that’s the talk tbh as far as I’m concerned. Did you mean that they promised to pay up so staff would not leave ?
We received a communication that MRRs were being reviewed for adjustment. Assuming its going to result in an increase. We'll see.
Yes, brought that I had an outside offer and got a pay raise to stay
OP are you still at Fannie?
Nope. My boss knows I’m interviewing though.
Brought it up during year end indirectly 😭
Well I outlined the results of what I have accomplished and how I helped the organization and why I deserve the raise and promotion. You make your own luck. Knowing I don’t want to be in finance I spoke to other leaders and asked for a place in their department.
Company is just moving positions overseas instead of addressing why there employees are leaving
Yes got a call from my manager yesterday that bc of a companywide wage increase from last year, my compensation is locked in for the calendar year.
Was this after you bringing up the conversation to renegotiate?
Not at all yet. I’m starting to look for other jobs. Feel like its not quite time to go but I can’t see me staying here.
I left my first real job since graduation today. I only wish I had done it sooner. So many more opportunities last year compared to this year. I was definitely underpaid for years, and this year the company’s COLA is less than inflation. Was not even offered what I asked for. I think a lot of companies are experiencing what I’d call a reverse elimination situation, where younger or people who are better at their jobs are quitting if they are not getting paid for what they want.
