I don't prefer Audit as I don't have any exp.

What can we do about the decline of grammar and mechanics skills in our students’ writing?

I’m going to be able to purchase a novel for each grade level, 9-12, this coming school year. I’m looking for suggestions. What I have available currently is pretty dated and my own personal affinity is for the more classical novels, so I was hoping to find some more modern ideas that my kids may relate to easier.

Anyone else been told they “don’t have time” to teach students a novel by a principal, even when they make a standards based proposal and time to it fit in with everything ahead?
