For a Company the size of 500 employees, what are your recommended corporate communication policies for announcing furloughs or layoffs?
What’s the difference between lay off and getting fired? Neither because of misconduct or serious performance issues?
Lateraled in the last year and started with great reviews but I’m getting burnt out and have been making more client-facing mistakes lately. I’m scared I’m making a really bad impression and that I’m not gonna last another year at my firm. How do you calm your fears when you feel like you’re going to get fired/demoted?
I just had really intense feedback from my PML. I guess using "not getting fired" as my only goal for 2020 is seen as unprofessional and unmotivating. Any suggestions for goals to put in?
Our firm leadership hasn’t been transparent about potential layoffs but we know they’re coming. What’s the best way to prepare and get a head start on next steps?
Hey Receuiters. Have you ever received a full time job offer with an employment contract that included a 1 year non compete clause in your specific industry? I would be joining a late stage start up and an at will employee with no severance package. I understand the non solicitation clause and that part makes sense. However, limiting my future employer options for a year seems harsh. I live in NY which is a right to work state. Thoughts?
Laid off after Thanksgiving. 54. Not done yet. Plenty to offer. In Detroit but ready and able to move anywhere. AD/CD. Hangin in there. How bout you?
Is it common practice in Singapore for firms to have a probation period for new joiners (duration at their discretion), during which new joiners can be fired at a week’s notice period?
If my firm mandates the vaccine and I don’t provide proof, do they have to pay me severance when they fire me? FULL DISCLOSURE: I’m vaccinated, I just don’t want to work here anymore and I would like some extra $$$ 😂😂😂😂
What are the odds on Fauci being fired or removed from the Task Force now, post testimony?
Maybe I’m off base here but seems like EY kept a bunch of low performers through year end to justify keeping everyone’s pay stagnant for FY21 that will be around after these supposed layoffs, cause now they are canning a bunch of people and it’s not like things are any better now than they were in June...anyone disagree?
I am SO tired of reminding everyone on everything, saying the same thing a million times, and being on numerous accounts with minimal support. After my company had some layoffs due to Covid-19, I work at least 50 hours every week (sometimes 70). Should I look for a new job? I don’t feel motivated and happy at all. I know I should be grateful to have a job during this time but..
How secure is joining cognizant with 18lpa YOE:-2.6Y Immediate joiner can you guys suggest? I heard lot of layoffs in cognizant. I have 14 offer from itc.
I’m especially concerned with how this is going to impact the legal industry. What’s the best way to cut costs and make my firm more lean while being humane with job cuts?
More lay-off info in the news. Anyone impacted? https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-08-21/wells-fargo-resumes-job-cuts-in-break-with-top-u-s-competitors
Used to be left of center but the left has lost the script https://thepostmillennial.com/teacher-alleges-fired-not-meowing-student-cat
Anyone else have a lingering fear that they could be fired at any moment? I’ve received great performance reviews and my partner says I’m doing very well, but I don’t vibe with my colleagues as well as it seems others do.
Any hiring manager here from product company looking for a business analyst?pls DM me , serving NP or comment
Anyone have advice for a first year about to start? Things you wish you did, things you wish you didn’t do?
Man, what Wall Street Bets pulled off was just epic! :D So tempted to throw in some of my monies to stick it to the hedge funds and then donate any gains to charity.
Is it normal to be apprehensive about leaving? On one hand I’m not really interested in my job and busy season sucks, but on the other I feel like I’m giving up any opportunity I have to be successful. Industry jobs sound good then then after I think about it for a few hours I start thinking about how I need to stay in this to afford the life I want, even tho the industry gigs pay more. 🤦🏻♂️
Incoming transactional attorney. Will be licensed (hopefully—July bar taker) in a non-UBE state. My firm has offices in almost every major city. Do I need to wait 5 years before being able to waive into states to become licensed there, in case I want to leave my current state? How does that work?
At what age were your kids able to sleep alone in an unfamiliar place (e.g., room in vacation home)? Last time we traveled with our two and three year olds we found my husband needed to share the room with them and then they were happy and slept… but it meant he had to go to bed at like 8/830 pm which kind of sucks. They are now 4 and 2.5… should they be able to go to sleep in the room together without him there? Are they old enough to understand and cooperate?
Promotability score: 6/8 Scatterplot: extreme top right Milestone year: No Function: Advisory YOE: 4 Consultant to Sr. con? What are the chances of securing a promotion?
I'm coming across more and more people that have their trust as the primary beneficiary on their IRAs as opposed to their spouse. Thoughts?
Just started a new role in industry 2 months ago and my manager sent me a long email today saying he is not happy with my performance and is not at par with my level. He also pointed out list of instances when my submissions were late. Some of the things I agree but not all. Should I reply back or talk about it on our one on one and what to respond. They might be building a case to let me go.
To get you through the second half of the week 🙈🤣
Hi Folks, I have said my expectation as 25 LPA from Walmart. Is this is OK? Will I lose my opportunity because of over expectation. YOE - 4 years Tech Stack - Python, SQL, Azure Current Salary 14 LPA Thanks
To what extent is networking really important?
What would be the expected salary be for a Senior Risk Manager at a broker dealer in a LCOL/MCOL city? Duties are managing compliance activities in prep for audit, making sure documentation for processes is performed/retained, overseeing the evaluation of SOC reports, etc. Glassdoor only has one entry, and the salary they say is $100k which seems low
I know this varies based on the company but besides project needs from the hiring manager, does anybody take multiple months between when your background check clears and you actually start? I don’t want to immediately jump from job to job but not sure if taking some time off is generally accepted.
