I liked Kadhai in Bethesda. Also Godavari in Gaithersburg, MD is one of my favorites for South Indian food. Dhosas!
Ravi kebab if you can overlook the ambiance and Punjabi by nature.
Pretty good place by me called Pappe
I like Tandoori nights in Bethesda
Echo tandoori nights and Godavari. Also like Heritage India (Wisconsin Ave.) and Punjabi by Nature (inside Lotte plaza chantilly va; haven’t tried their other locations)
Tandoori Nights in Gaithersburg and Kadhai in Bethesda are both delicious
Jaipur in Fairfax and Punjabi by Nature in merrifield
Oh how could I forget Bombay Club in DC! And Pansari!
Hmmm need to try these MD and Nova places, unfortunately I don't have a car and I don't organically find myself in those places much. In any case, just ordered some delivery from Pappe, will let everyone know how it goes!
6.5/10 from Pappe
Delhi Club Arlington
Punjabi Junction
Indigo off H street NE is very good
Aditi in Alexandria, Sacrificial Lamb in Dc (takeout), great South Indian spot in Rockville (name escaping me), and I’m actually a huge fan of Curry & Pie in Georgetown...I realize this is more “American”, but their chicken tikka pizza is amazing!
Karma?
Don’t know how you rate Indian food but Pappe is pretty damn good! It is upscale but no reservation battles like at Rasika and in my opinion...just better food in general.
Indique in cleveland park
Now if you want to make a long drive go to charcoal chicken in chantilly Va
Curious how the locals rate Minerva in Gaithersburg?
Second Jaipur in Fairfax - got me into Indian cuisine. Also, Royal Taj in Columbia MD if you ever fly out of BWI or work in Baltimore.
"Royal Nepal" is an excellent (and affordable!) Nepalese place in Alexandria. The owners are extremely down to earth and friendly. Food is superb and authentic!
