Not SPG, but the Mandarin Oriental in Bangkok is probably my best hotel I've ever stayed in. The outdoor breakfasts are absolutely killer

I went to the SPG in the city center. My idiot friend (two males) asked for an upgrade and they gave a king bed room... 😂

Le meridian. Room upgrade to a suite with walkin closet.

St. Regis. Got upgraded to a suite during check in

I practically lived at the westin sukhumvit for 4 months. Fantastic service. Not sure how good the amenities compare for vacation purposes, but I had no complaints about the food or service when I stayed there.

like

Believe the Marriott we stayed at was wonderful. Awesome breakfast

Renaissance had a great breakfast and is in a great location near all the big shopping malls, and right next to a BTS station.

The SPG lux property in sukhumvit is better than the Westin. Can't remember name

wow, how do you get on international engagements to bkk?

That's the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit, SC1. It has Sheraton in its name but it isn't a Sheraton property, it's Luxury Collection. By all accounts, it's a stellar property

When you get a rental car, what do you do to make sure you don’t get taken advantage of for some bogus issue/scratch that’s already on the car? Take pic/video before, tell the checkout person of any issues (although this can be hard especially if at a smaller airport & you get the keys in the airport and there’s no gate when you leave), buy the rental insurance? If you have a card that covers rental cars (CSR, Amex Hilton) do you decline rental insurance and use the card benefits?

I’m a midlevel in litigation and I just finished a trial. The firm’s billable year ends in 3 months and I have already met my target for the year. I am not actively working on any matters, but my group is busy and there will be work for me when I come back from vacation. How much time can I take off before the end of the billable year without looking bad/pissing off my firm?

Hey fish fam, need an expectations level set. Ambassador status, staying at a St Regis for honeymoon. Concierge emailed to ask the occasion ahead of time, and we mentioned again at valet, check in, and breakfast - haven’t gotten anything other than “congrats.” No upgrade. No information at check in re: amenities or “rituals” (e.g., 3 days in found out that there is a daily bloody Mary tasting - would’ve been nice to know). Am I overreacting to have hoped for something, anything celebratory?

I wanted to apply for credit cards to get bonus points. My credit scores are 799 with equifax and 798 with TransUnion. Have 4 hard inquiries still on the record. My application for the amazon credit card got declined last March when my score was a bit lower and got ~6 hard inquiries. Personally I think it sucks that we won't find out if the credit card application is accepted or declined until the credit is hard pulled. Is there a more reliable way to be sure of the application being accepted?

Hi all! For an experienced hire as a Human Capital Consultant at Deloitte, what should I expect the salary/sign-on bonus to be at a MCOL city? I have approx. 3.5 YOE (non-consulting), MBA and MS degree (non target school) and also SHRM certified (which is probably irrelevant for the role but thought I’d share anyways). Already did my research but the range is kind of all over the place for experienced hires so just want to have a ballpark. Thanks!

My school deliberately cut the number of classes that the specials teachers teach so that we could be building subs for quarantined and sick teachers (we are hybrid). So... I teach fewer classes (which is a relief because specials teachers teach way more classes than core teachers normally) but I'm pulled for most of my planning periods to babysit classes. I need my planning periods so I can redo my ENTIRE curriculum... and I just feel unappreciated, used, and nothing more than a babysitter.
