They are holding firm on this comp package and will not upgrade to senior. I think this is low with my years of experience. Any thoughts? Thanks!

In the past 6 years, I was promoted twice, from P3 to P4, then a few years later, from P4 to P5. However, I found out that my salary is still within the P3 band (actually 10k below max P3 range). I'm a financial services audit manager (going to be a 2nd year manager in 2 weeks) and looking to transition into corporate/operational FP&A. My long term goal is to become a CFO so I believe that I will need more finance exposure which I don't really get with my current role. Any thoughts how difficult to get an FP&A job with this experience and whether I can get an FP&A manager title? Also, can anyone share the WLB and work hours in FP&A?

Has anybody ever left their job to study the CPA or another professional exam full time? If so, could you share your experience and how you were able to re-enter the workforce later? I am thinking about it. Married so could probably survive financially. Would appreciate warnings as well if it is a bad idea. Would prefer to just move out of Big 4, but also don’t want to take a job I will leave within a year. I just feel I’d personally do better studying full time. Some can juggle not me tbh.

MCOL (think PA/NJ/DE), 2 bachelors from a state school, no certs. Considering the constants listed, and considering the macro averages what do you think would be a good salary 4 years into your career in public accounting? how about banking? tech?

Tax / Accounting seems so dull. Sure “everyday is never the same” but it’s always boring 😀

Is a 15k paycut worth it?

Just got promoted unexpectedly, big jump in salary.

I was interviewing with a new position when the promo came.

Have one last interview but I'm likely to get the job.

New position is 10k more than old salary but 15k less than new one.

Gets me out of public accounting (better WLB) and into a space I'm interested in.

Also gets me out of tax (major goal) into a more general finance role.

I'm thinking try it for a year or two, see how it goes, and jump if needed.

Thinking about leaving Big 4 to go to mid market. Recruiters say pay is slightly better with less hours. Is this true? Any advice?
