Awesome firm with collegial environment. Everyone is just really nice. NYC is a smaller office for the firm, but a lot of good attorneys there. Attorneys stay a long time, most I work with are lifers or 20 plus years. Just announced new comp that is closer to market and remote work is flexible depending on the attorneys you work with. They want two days in office but most have been fully remote for the last year and a half and will likely continue. 1850 hours

Thank you! Do you find that Associates are generally happy and have good opportunities for advancement?

Yes, good happiness and work life balance. But in my opinion it’s up to the associate regarding advancement in all firms. While interviewing look into the age of the partners you’ll be working with and see how close they are to retirement and also the people in the practice group between you and them. It will give you a good idea of succession potential. Then during your interviews make sure you connect with those partners on a personal level.

In a world of remote consulting work…. How long can the US maintain its high premium over European and, esp. developing market consulting? Both price tag to clients and significantly higher salaries for the people. I imagine may move faster at Big 4, etc. than MBB, but within MBB the huge cost and salary differentials feel… increasingly hard to maintain (even though I think the differential has actually gotten bigger, not smaller in the last two years). Thoughts?

Anyone leave before their bonus (before knowing what the amount was) and then regret it when it turned out to be a huge bonus? Got a great offer that I want to take but feeling FOMO by leaving the bonus on the table. And yes, I tried moving the start date and asking them to cover the lost bonus but they said no and it’s still a better offer and it would be irresponsible not to take it.
