Anybody have experience with Reference Point? A headhunter/recruiter reached out with decent salary ranges, but would like to know more about the company before I respond. The site doesn’t give much details into WLB, specific duties and projects (does mention they focus on the financial industry), and benefits, but I did see one of their Consultants took a title cut (Sr. Consultant at IBM) to go there.

They reached out to me as well. I said no b/c their website is very thin on content. You can see people on LinkedIn but again there are very few.

Generally, established firms have high-quality thought leadership on their website. Look at any of the big4, MBB, even boutiques such as Marakon, or a mid-sized form such as Guidehouse. It signals smart consultants and smart leadership.

Same here, they reached out to me couple weeks ago looks like they are hiring a lot but not sure if it’s worth it with such a small firm.

Yeah, seems like they won a big contract w/o a bench. Considering what’s been happening at the B4, likely a good idea not to take on added employer risk at this point.

In this new year, I would like to get better at investing. I am embarrassed to say that all I have done is max out my 401K every year. I just don't know where to start, any suggestions on good how to books for beginners? What daily news sections should I be reading?

Have an offer that pays ~$350-450k a year, but is very bonus heavy and about 25% of that or more will be restricted stock and options. Making ~$350k now all cash. And the way it’s structured, in the first year I’ll end up being ~$50k short for the year of where I would be if I stayed. Also requires a big move to a location I’m not too keen on. WLB is better, probably 50 hours a week but need to be plugged in 100% of the time. Any considerations I haven’t really thought about? What should I ask?
