Did you go to a feeder school? It’s hard to make the jump unless you had stellar credentials in COLLEGE.

If you aren’t good at math / excel (most lawyers aren’t) it seems like it will be an uphill battle to thrive once you’ve landed that initial banking job.
Your peers will often have top tier MBAs or undergrad finance / Econ / Math degrees from elite undergrads, while lawyers in the T14 frequently majored in humanities at undergraduate schools that range from elite down to “never heard of that school in my life.”
Also, it seems like the elite finance track is to do IB analyst out of undergrad for 12-24 months and then jump to Megafund PE or VC. “Associates” and above in IB are looked down upon by their PE/VC/buyside peers. My understanding is attorneys who switch to IB usually come in at the Associate level.
