KPMG offering 15 lpa
JP Morgan offering 17 LPA

Can you please help me decide which side to go based on work culture, work life balance

Have any firms begun allowing permanent remote work since the pandemic? My firm has historically been proud of its office-based culture but I’ve been pushing for WFH and would love to hear of some examples. Mostly so I can move to a LCOL area closer to family while still keeping my job that I enjoy.

Any other sober folks in the sales world who can give me some advice? Really struggling to keep up with the office culture when happy hour is impossible for me. 1.5 years sober and want to stay that way.

Considering a move from Google to Amazon. I have my eyes set on returning to school starting fall 2022, which means I would leave work sometime around June 2022. Amazon beats Google slightly comp wise, but concerns about culture and wlb. Would you stay at Google or take the opportunity for a year?

As a mid-level associate, what is an appropriate amount of notice to give your firm when you leave? I’m running a couple deals right now and do not want to leave my team in a bind...so 2 weeks seems far too short. That said, I also want to take some actual time off before starting a new role. Not sure how much time new employer is willing to give me before starting...I suspect max 6 weeks.

My org structure recently changed and my new Director (male in his late 50’s/early 60’s) and I began working together on Monday. We have been meeting extensively this week and twice in meetings with just him and I he called me “kiddo”. Im a VP with 11 years experience in my field (of which he knows very little). I find this incredibly patronizing and disrespectful, but I’m not sure that he means it in that sense as his kids are my age. Should I say something, and if so, how do I bring it up?

I started a new job working for a PE-backed company. I travel 2 nights for work and am able to expense dinners both nights. When I had asked my manager, the COO, about what a reasonable dinner expense is he said “I’m not worried about it”. However I want to be sure I’m not spending too much where it makes me look like a poor business operator. Since starting a month ago,I’ve been spending between 20-30 on carry out every night and have not been expensing tip. What is a reasonable expense amt?
