Anybody know of a company hiring a junior penetration tester? I have a couple certifications and have passed numerous CTFs, and completed THM entry level courses, along with a couple TCM Security courses (Python 101, Linux 101, Ethical Hacking course) Security+, Network+, and Pentest+. But my degree is in Accounting, hopefully that doesn’t matter. I’m looking forwards to learning more!
Not sure but getting your OSCP will certainly get your foot in the door most places, regardless of what degree you have and in some cases no degree needed at all
I wouldn’t say don’t do OSCP. But going straight from Accounting to pentesting, probably not the best route. Pentesting is not an entry level job even if “junior” is in front of it. You need to know basic understanding of everything technology. Once you do that, look into the PNPT. Gives you the same meat as OSCP, but 85% cheaper.
I have the OSCP and unless a company is paying for it; it would be a no-go in my personal opinion.

You can look at jobs at CISA and related agencies. Sometimes they’ll group it under IT Specialist on USAJOBS.
