Anybody know what the hours are like for litigation counsel at FAANG? Is it one of the worst in house roles in terms of WLB or is it going to be pretty close to a 40-50 hour five day week

I have a question about audit in Europe. Is the work life balance just as bad? As the stereotype goes, they work as a means to live rather than living to work. If that is true, what is different if the type of work is more or less the same?

I’m curious to know if anyone has experience working part-time in architecture? I have been working for large international firms in NYC for the past 10 years. So I work all day every day. My evenings and often the weekends are all absorbed by work duties. Working part-time would allow me to find a better balance, and carve out space for side gigs and eventually start my own firm. Any recommendations?

This general strike talk has really got me re-evaluating my whole career. I can’t complain about compensation, I’m paid well, I have benefits, and I have a roof over my head. But the work life balance and unsustainable productivity expectations that have been created by agencies that won’t say no to clients needs to change. We place/create ads to turn millionaires into billionaires while we’re treated terribly. Something’s gotta give. I don’t know a single person who isn’t burnt out right now

Would you join a company that was recently acquired by a private equity group, who also plans on selling the company soon? My initial concern is that the new acquirer could replace the (very small) legal team upon acquisition. But is that unlikely? Any other junior in-house lawyers report to non-lawyers?? How do you deal with it? My boss has worked in law their entire career but is not a lawyer. It is a struggle because they are not as responsive and quick, lack knowledge of law (i.e., may misstate the law and misguide internal clients), among other things.
