Just finished the last of FIVE video interviews for a new position and have to share a tip that helped me every step of the way: taping talking points to the wall right above my screen. I carefully considered my answers to the top ~4 questions I thought they might ask and wrote large bullet points for myself. It kept me on track, focused, and eloquent. I was laid off in June. Most consulting companies are on a hiring freeze that I’ve talked to. It’s pretty hard on my psyche to not get down on myself. I worked so hard to get to Deloitte and now it feels like I’m starting over. It’s tough. Any advice on companies that are hiring? I only want to go if it is a fit not just anywhere you know. Thanks.

Joined DCM recently, how long does it take to get staffed. Completing one month almost now, or is it as chill and nice as it is now?

I feel like the billable hours model with 40 hours minimum of billable hours most weeks (and obvi more during busy season) leads to increased burnout. Like in other jobs w/o a billable hours goal if you had an unproductive day you could call the day a wash and get back to it another day, but for this job you have to work later to make up for it. Or during the slower parts of the year if there was a 35 minimum billable goal and people could work a true 9-5 that would help recharge too.

Does anyone feel like their entire engagement team plays chicken each day to see who leaves first?
