KPMG I cleared all the rounds of my interview with KPMG and was asked to provide necessary documents and fill a CAF form a week back and had a HR discussion too. I have requested for about 3Lakhs additional fixed pay since my current CTC has increased and HR said she will get back on this. It's been a week and haven't heard back on the offer letter. How long do you think I should wait. Please wait.

I work in the public sector and love it. Most opportunities which really excite me mean a major compensation cut and the loss of those sweet consulting perks. Having a bit of an identity crisis.

Going through the same thing now. Got promoted to manager very fast and most industry roles won’t take me as SM/Director and all the senior associate/manager type roles they will consider me for are way less than I make now. Sigh 😔

Did this. Two years into consulting and jumped to a small analytics firm in sports for a 40% pay cut. Only made it a year before jumping back. This happened for a multitude of reasons (really abrasive culture being one of them), but I will confirm pay was certainly one. It something you don’t think about now because that need is filled, but when it is gone, it becomes a major factor. I had been fortunate to never experience financial stress before I took that job, but it became very real. I would think hard about why you want to leave and if it is something you think is worth the financial loss. That said, taking that leap helped satiate that feeling and gave me immense clarity. If you think it’s right decision, absolutely go for it. You can always come back.
