Not a big fan of either. Which modules are you interested in?

None of them truly do the task you are looking for. They all think their out of the box software is what you want when in reality everyone wants to modify. Once you do this, the vendors are clueless.

We use OneTrust for CCPA requests. Does the job fine.

Additional Posts in In-House Counsel

Reasonable base compensation expectations for regional general counsel position (direct report to CLO)? From what I can tell, company revenue is $500M - $1B (privately held company, so tough to know); construction industry (infrastructure / energy / mining); midwest headquarters. I’d be at the lower end of the experience requirements. Looked at MLA report, but looking for additional thoughts/opinions. Thanks!

I’m currently at a medium sized tech startup. I was interviewing for a role that would be a bump in pay and title at a multinational public F50 company. At first, the hiring manager and head of legal were very complementary about my experience. Almost too much so. After a week of interviews with the team (softball-esq), I was informed that if I wanted to join, they would bring me on at a lower title. I’m not sure about comp yet. But if comp is still an increase + experience at a public..

If the same company is hiring for two very similar but different positions and you qualify for both, do you apply to both? Additional caveat is that I interviewed for one of them last week. No word yet on whether I made it to the next round. Would gladly accept either position, but not sure how it would look if I apply for the second position while still being considered for the first. On the flip side, I don't want to miss the window on the second position while waiting to hear back...thoughts?

I’ve been in an in-house role since the beginning of the year and just gave 2 weeks’ notice to leave for a much better paying and better titled position. The response has been very petty, to the point that I’ve been called unprofessional even after I asked the hiring attorney whether I could give longer notice at the current company’s request. Is this normal?

I received a 2 year continued service agreement from my employer (government) costing $12,000 for individuals who 'leave voluntarily' within the timeframe. Will I actually have to pay for the costs of training if I don't end up liking the job? Are these enforceable? What are the parameters of 'leaving voluntarily?' Thank you!

Has anyone heard about an offer for employment be rescinded because the background check showed a drivers license suspension 2 years ago due to a third party firm error not informing me on the results of the disputed ticket and requirement to pay ticket fees within specified time. The drivers license has since been in good order and is currently valid but the record shows a past suspension for a speeding ticket.

I am currently at a firm and received an in-house offer. Aside from main items like comp and big ticket benefits like PTO/health insurance/401k, what other items do I need to think about discussing/negotiating? For example, fees to keep bar licensure, professional association fees, CLEs, etc. I feel like there is so much on that end I currently take for granted being covered at my firm. Anything else I should consider?

Got an in house offer at global company for 130k, $5000 signing bonus. They know I make 150k.

What’s the appropriate counter offer? Don’t want to be offensive because I really want this job, but also want to look out for my best interests. Boston market, IP counsel position.
