Hey y’all any advice for someone in UX/UI. I’ve graduated from a Digital media and animation program and have a few Ui and Ux certificates but now I lack professional experience. I’ve applied to probably 100 companies had a few interviews but no luck feeling a little down not getting some even an internship through referral.
Can you exit to an industry strategy role even if you're not doing "strategy" projects at your firm?
Do hedge funds in NYC pay well for financial reporting associates? What is the typical range for a DE Shaw accounting position?
What do staff want and what would make them happy? This is a serious question. I have been in public for 25 years. I swear I feel like a mom and therapist as much as a professional. I truly care about my staff. Treat then well, fight for them, invest in their futures. But the last few years it seems like nothing is enough. I am seriously considering early retirement because it is so emotionally draining on me. So many younger staff in here and all I see is complaints. Am I alone?
I have two offers that seem pretty good for someone with no CS degree and minimal experience. 1: Current company - Software Engineer I (full stack role) 2: New company - UI/UX Engineer II (front end only) Compensation/benefits are comparable Do you think it's better accept a full stack role where I will get experience with all kinds of technologies (front, back, devops, testing, etc) or a purely frontend role where I could specialize more in one skill?
Why is it frowned upon to ask about compensation range up front? Why should I waste time if I know that the position will pay less than what I make? Genuinely curious.
Hi All, I have received an offer from Bank of America as Assistant Manager on 14Lpa fixed and TCG digital for 17.5Lpa (5% variable) for Data Engineering role. Kindly suggest which one shall I go with? Also how are appraisals/hikes and bonus in BOFA? Could someone please help?
Wats your take guys ? I don't like hybrid model as it works for those who are locals of same city where the office is . For me i have to leave my parents, hometown and travel 2000kms to Bangalore for joining office how it is hybrid for me ? I still worry about myself and family health not sure about COVID. Also most of my team sits in Hyderabad few are in Bangalore .office should be optional. Indeed we were able to work in past 2 years right ? Then why force people to office ?
Am I alone in thinking that if I don’t one day work at W+K, then I wasted my time in this career? I feel like working there is like making it to the Super Bowl for a player.
I’m currently a systems engineer (4-5 YOE in SE, 2 YOE in customer service before that) with BS in STEM, MS in Technical Mgmt. I’ve been dealing with burnout so I’m currently on the hunt for a new job but I’m thinking about making a pivot into something else - maybe a data science or data analytics role. A lot of my experience for the languages/tools that seem to be required for those roles comes from my undergrad courses and not my SE experience. Can I still put that on my resume?
Been working for a year at my position. First full time gig programming. Even got interns and a raise. Still have no clue what the fuck I'm working with or doing.
Something has been bothering me, but I feel guilty for thinking it. Basically I'm making about 20K more than my partner after I got a new job (annual salary before tax), because he decided to switch to software development later in life. He is about 31 now with a junior/intermediate developer position. I'm worried that he's too late in the game and will never catch up to his peers and even to me...I know I shouldn't think this way, but just can't help but worry im with someone who is too behind
Hi everyone, I have an interview for a product manager role at a health tech start-up. Any ideas what some interview questions might look like?
Got an invitation for Deloitte mini assessment centre (online) for senior consultant position. There is a written exercise, senior manager interview, case presentations and a director interview in the schedule. Anyone got any pointers for any/all of the stages. Struggling to find any prep for the written exercise.

Anyone with Indian passport applied for an Australian visa in the US? It seems to be all electronic and they do not ask for the passport to be stamped. Wanted to confirm that is accurate.
Can't decide if it's best to move to a less stressful job or not. Some days I love it, and am up for early promotion, other days I'm inconsolably sad and can't think of anything but applying elsewhere
When your senior goes back and forth on what he wants and not so clear on what he wants so you are just changing your script every 30 minutes. Make up your mind.
