Accepted what I thought was my dream role. It's unorganized, training is subpar and its very frustrating. Its a few months in and I'm over it. So somehow (I have no idea how) I’m graduating this semester in about 3 years with a degree in Finance.

Background: Switched jobs about 6 months ago, promised better work life balance, however, I work at least 50 hours per week. The team should be staffed at 6, there is myself and 1 new hire. Feedback from management is that I need to do more, be more responsive and be less meticulous.

New opportunity: 12 month W2 contract at 20% increase in base. Any hours after 40 will be additional pay. Same/similar responsibilities except its in house so no 20 clients.

After a long and extensive interview process (2 months & 12 rounds of interviews) I finally heard back that they are very interested in offering me the job. My Current base is $135k (in NJ) and my ask is $180K (in NYC). But base comp ceiling for the position grade is $165k and they are willing to offer one time payment to make up for the gap between the offer & the ask. Any thoughts? The role has very upward potential in next couple of years.
