Any creatives working from Italy?
I realized that a senior associate has been bcc’ing the partner when they send an “admonishing email” about things I missed. This seems… kind of backstabbing but please let me know otherwise.
Hi, I am working as a Senior Software Engineer (Android) in Chandigarh and have over 7.5 years of experience. My CTC is 13.8 LPA. Am I underpaid?

Inflation costs are killing my pipeline. Many of my deals are scaling back greatly because of their rising operating costs.
How do we overcome the inflation objection? I mean obviously the answer is to show how much value we offer, but how do we do that when all of the companies we work with barely have enough funding?
They need our services, which is at least some job security, but their scale back is greatly affecting our projections and quota attainment.
Hey just got word my company is going under in a few weeks. I am a senior ux designer that’s been designing for 8 years. Please let me know if you have any leads
Does anyone have a spouse with a mental illness? I struggle with severe depression myself, so I’m not unfamiliar with the pain and with how broken mental health care is in the US. My husband has bipolar type 2 and has become very suicidal. Last night he was thinking of ways to kill himself, and I convinced him to call the VA crisis line to talk to someone. They called EMS and committed him involuntarily because he is at risk of harming himself. Now he says that it’s all my fault...cont
Already wfh, but due to COVID, toddler & husband are now home too. I'm the only mom on my team, and while others have kids, their SOs do not work. Mine has to wfh, too. Feel like male boss (cont.)
Please help me understand few components in the CTS salary structure.

How’s everyone coping in Florida? Who has to go into the office or wfh Monday? How are supermarket shelves? Are schools still open?
Any tips for exploring wine country? Has anyone taken the wine train? Is it worth it? Ty ❤️
Looking for thoughts on starting AD relationship for an eventual Rolex in SF vs smaller market that I have ties to and visit frequently (Phx, Denver, Vegas, etc). Biggest hesitation in SF is the best AD for brands I’m looking at is Tourneau and I will likely relocate sometime in the next 2 years.
I’m starting Invisalign tomorrow and I’m sooo excited! I’ve never had it before. Any advice?
I had an interview this past week for a position I had applied to. Following the interview, I was referred by the talent manager to another position. The position I was referred to, and have an interview for this week, is titled Solution Architect. This is a remote position is in Biotech and was curious if anyone had insight for salary expectations would be, or what I would say bottom line would be?
Additional Posts in In-House Counsel
My co-worker is so resentful and competitive because I was promoted over her last year which caused a demotion on her end. People in the company still go to her for things that should be for me but she rarely corrects them. Shes still involved in the company too in a way that allows her to know secrets that I should know about but never do. I technically am above her within the company but this is how things are. I just do my job and try to not let it bother me but it does. Any suggestions?
No poach agreements (i.e., we agree not to solicit each other’s employees) in customer contracts are a no-no for antitrust reasons, right? A customer is pretty adamant that they want it in but I feel like this is black and white. Would love to know if any of you are seeing them in your customer contracts and whether you’re including “unless prohibited by law” type of language to CYA.
What law firm is your favorite for run of the mill employment issues in the US and internationally (India, Australia, UK, Germany, etc.). I primarily use Littler because they have a broad reach and decent rates but I’m wondering whether Bird & Bird, Ogletree, or some other firm has similar pricing and as good or better quality work. So, who are you using and are you happy?
Have you had to change your start date after accepting an offer and how did it go? I told them I need to give 30 day notice and so I set my start date (incorrectly) assuming the background check and drug screen would take a few days to clear. However, the drug screen is now taking over a week and a half (still not finished, maybe tomorrow). Apparently things are much slower due to staffing issues and labs are backed up. It’s cutting into my 30 day notice significantly. Thoughts?
Do in-house roles have conflicts checks?
For those that support the marketing team… any good resources to get caught up on the AdTech lingo and just generally how it works?
Can anyone recommend any business books for - new in house counsel? I feel like I am totally lost when it come to the business side of the company I work for. I work for a software startup if that helps. Thanks!
In-house counsel - would you prefer working at a big company specializing in a field of law, eg, privacy, IP, employment, etc, or a small company being a general counsel? Assume the small company has a higher risk of going under compared to the big company, but higher reward (via stock), and the large company pays a healthier salary.
Any one in compliance at an investment bank? What was interview process like? How long is interview process?
Do FAANGs or FAANG equivalents ever post openings for securities lawyers? I only ever see product counsel, privacy counsel etc… as a current securities lawyer at a firm it’s got me a bit concerned. Looking at you in particular, Meta…
Can anyone recommend a good recruiter for in house jobs in California (SoCal to be specific)? Much appreciated.
Has anyone had a background check done by HireRight recently? Did they send you a notification when it was complete? I have an offer letter contingent on passing background and drug test so I haven’t put in my notice to my current employer but the contingent start date is May 17. I’m thinking I’m obviously going to have to push it back to give a proper two weeks to my current employer but I’m wondering if I will even get a notification when HireRight is done with my background check.
Has anyone moved from antitrust private practice to a non-antitrust in-house role? If so, what kind of role?
This is a kind of funky question but I need as many ears as I can get - are you still doing safeguard forms or symptom check forms in your offices? How is your RTO process evolving from a legal protections standpoint?
I think our HR team wants to get “back to normal” and get rid of most of our guardrails but I’m having trouble ascertaining the evolving risk.
Which books would you recommend for in house counsel about strategy, management, and leadership?
Asking as product counsel for tech startup.
Doing a remote interview tomorrow for an in-house position that I really want. Invite says "[company] is a startup, so a full suit is not necessary! Business casual attire is recommended." Like I said, I really want this job, and the idea of not wearing a suit is just weird to me
Should I still wear the suit or would it be counter productive?
New to Fishbowl?
unlock all discussions on Fishbowl.
As in in OGC or as the GC?
The role would be associate general counsel.
Is it just one hospital or a system? How large?
Academic/research or just clinical enterprise?
For profit or non-profit?
Thanks P1. That all sounds good. I’m actually hoping for a slower pace. My wife just gave birth to twins so I’d like to have more time for them without billing.
Beware of chiefs of medicine who have oddly defined calves and call all the women “sweetheart.” You may need to find an outlet to vent your frustrations such as acapella.
