How does one most effectively make the transition into management from an Individual Contributor?

I've been an individual contributor for 4 years in Tech, have 8 years of experience total. I'm finding it difficult to make the management transition despite having management experience, performing beyond expectations, and having a genuine passion for enablement and development.

I'd appreciate any success stories or pointers you can offer in regards to this transition.

I'm up for promotion to M1 this summer. But I honestly cant stand the thought of one more busy season, and am fairly confident I can land a job in private industry in the next month. Am I crazy to leave as a S3, 6 months short of a promotion to M1, for a job as a senior accountant in private industry? Or should I try to stick it out to M1 and then bounce for an accounting manager position?

I am .net developer currently working in product based company with 3 YOE. Do you think i am underpaid?

Why am I not getting interviews? I have 13+ YOE supporting three executives simultaneously. I feel good about my resume reflecting my experience/skills, I also tailor my resume to each job posting. I’ve been looking for work since April and I’ve gotten maybe three recruiter calls and that’s it. Im trying not to tell myself I should just apply to any and everything (admin asst jobs, customer service jobs) but I’m getting desperate. My biggest regret is staying at my last job for so damn long.

Hi EA fishies! How long did it take you to hear back after the phone interview? I interviewed for a Special Assistant to the President role last week, and it sounds like a dream. The recruiter said she’d pass me along to the hiring team. However, I still haven’t heard back yet. Is this normal?

Are there any EAs in here that are extremely familiar with the tech industry that would be okay with me messaging them to figure out the best option between two offers?

I listed my salary from 2014 - when I left a dead end office clerk role to move into my 1st OM + assistant role…to today 2014 - $32,000 - dead end job
2015 - $50,000 - new job
2015 - $55,000 - raise
2017 - $60,000 - new job
2018 - $66,000 - raise
Jan 2022 - $74,000 - raise
March 2022 - $83,000 - raise
May 2022 - $140,000 - raise + promotion

Has anyone gone from being in a contractor EA role to filling a full time spot? If so, did you keep the same salary as you were paid for being a contractor or did it differ? Not sure if i am out of line for requesting more than I currently make.
