Similar situation. Unreal it’s legal for companies to do this.
Yes. Took a few weeks off and pissed clean.

I just accepted an industry position and it does not require a drug test. However, they are in Colorado so a bit different. I’d go under the assumption that if it’s a established conservative type company, then they may drug test. If it’s a newer more liberal company, then probably not.
Yep I had to for an industry job I started a month ago. I purposely scheduled my second round interview as far back as I could push it, and again gave some bs about being out of town for a week before I could come get the paperwork for the drive test. In total I was able to make it just over a month with no smoking and I passed. It’s nuts, I’m in California.

Yep, makes sense. Most manufacturing companies are old school. I had an offer a couple years ago from a manufacturing company in the Midwest and they wanted to drug test as well.
I had to do a drug test before an industry job in California. It was required to be taken within 24-48 hours of signing my offer letter and other employment documents if I remember correctly.
If you have a medicard, some states have made it illegal for companies to rescind an offer due to cannabis use.
Also asked to do a drug test within 7 days after I accepted the offer, but it is a leading PE firm in NYC
