I understand they deduct tax, but I feel it is too much. IDK where I'm losing the money. Can someone tell if this is normal. I'm a fresher so, IDK much about it.
Also, what can I do to pay less taxes? Any help on that?

Not at PwC but as someone who lives in the burbs very curious, what’s this city tax offset payment? Is that a PwC specific benefit?
It’s not a benefit. It’s probably a shortcoming if their payroll actually. If you aren’t physically in the city you shouldn’t be paying city tax. They always withhold city tax and then do a deposit to offset it
Hm interesting, as far as I know if you live outside of city limits but your employer is in the city you still have to pay city wage tax but at the non-resident rate rather than resident, so 3.4% instead of 3.8%.
Under the law, you are required to pay city wage tax if you work from outside the city unless your office is literally shut down for covid reasons and your employer won’t allow you to come in. If you’re just working from home cause it’s convenient for you and your office is in the city, you owe philly wage tax.
