Is taking a two week block of vacation a big deal? I feel one is common and am about to take two but feel pretty guilty and like I’m slowing processes down

My fiancé sister has traveled to meet and stay with us for 2 weeks. This is the first time since we are living together. My fiancé has been very nice and trying to connect with her, take her out. And we both are doing it. I feel he and me being used- 1- She will sit at the back of the car for the day trip she wanted to make abs listen to her music on head phones, while we both will drive for 3-4 hours (we would otherwise have preferred an at-home holiday).. contd

I hate people who have kids and then act like their life is so much more busier than yours and that they have a life and if you're single you're prob just sitting around doing nothing. News fucking flash single people have a life we actually can be very busy. Jeeeeesuuusss.

Anyone else find it INSANE that PTO does not count towards your billable hour requirement. If you take a week off (40 hours), you’re really not getting paid time off if you have to make up all of that billable time before the end of the year. Am I missing something or is that just absurd?

Just over a year post BL. Still a lawyer but more balanced. Still crazy to me how all those weird things about corporate BL are actually not inescapable realities of practice, e.g. not having free time on weekday evenings, work email notifications, having to take my laptop on vacation, caveating accepting a birthday party invitation by saying "if nothing comes up". The happiest surprise: work is still intellectually challenging because of the randomness of being an in-house generalist.

We are all feeling the stress of this very unusual school year! I have even heard student teacher candidates feeling worried. However, on this Thanksgiving holiday, I am thankful to work with such dedicated and caring people!

For the past week or so, I have been gorging on so much food with little to no exercise. I am giving myself permission to do this in the holiday season, so no guilt :) but I just noticed today when I was walking uphill, I was panting and breathing heavy, when this has never been a problem for me earlier!
