I have already applied? Just waiting to schedule the interview (mandatory for every candidate, for Booth)

So you're talking from your personal experience and not facts that are posted on the school websites with respect to average starting salary and career placement? Okay.

No idea, but I know the bar is much much lower for those programs than FT. Not knocking on your credibility, but that's my observation after working with a FT and pt grad

Kinda anecdotal^^^.

Not just anecdotal, the bar is much lower in terms of average GMAT and GPA

Thanks. Just don't see the value in going full time. Trying to plan logistics and those guys are taking much longer than expected to get back, hence asked here. Would encourage only useful responses please

*applied.

S&1 how much is "much lower"?

720+ vs 670

Is that fact and posted on their website or any marketing material, or do you know that from personal experience/ heard from others?

Check their website. It's fact.

You sound defensive. You have a PT MBA from Booth?

I just think PT programs get a bad name when they don't deserve it. I did A PT program at night so I could keep working. I got into the FT and PT program. Some make it seem like they'll take anyone in a PT program.

Currently pursuing a MBA, and am deciding which focus areas to take. I am trying to pivot from UX design to product in tech. Ideal sector: FinTech Current sector: Mobile Gaming Related sectors: Entertainment, Edutainment, e-Commerce, Social Aiming at head of product or head of design as long term goal. If only 2 focuses, would you pick Business Analytics, Digital Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Strategic Innovation, or Global Challenges in Business? Advice appreciated!

What type of consulting leads towards working at a Hedge Fund? I found I love doing analysis but I do it as a hobby and I’m mostly self taught. My background is manufacturing, engineering, and technology. I have a MBA but my business skills in Finance, Accounting, etc. are definitely my weakness. I’m really good at picking stocks because of my background even though my business skills are not as strong. Maybe I’m thinking about this wrong. Any help is appreciated.

Relatively new post-MBA hire here and I’m having second thoughts about getting into consulting. I miss my old industry gig and the predictability it brought (ironically the reason I pivoted). For those who went through something like this and stuck it out, does it get better? How long did it take you to adjust?

I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
