McKinsey and BCG, you guys are broken and making us all look bad. Get some talent and some senior people in execution. Stop with the inexperienced nonsense. Quality and results driven work or fold up shop. https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2021/08/22/private-consultants-vaccination-drive-outsourced/

You don’t tell them.
You say you’re looking for a new career path because of… [new challenge, more focus/depth, greater ownership/accountability, etc]
"Wasn't a good culture fit for me"
Genuinely curious OP… did you actually plan to tell firms that you were let go? And that you were setup to fail?
Depends on your runway with current firm.
If you are half way out and still on the payroll, email, access etc. I would position it one way
If you are already out the door and have none of the above, I would position is another
Either way, it’s about selling yourself and your value prop
i had sex with my boss’ wife 😬
That would be boss’ daughter
SP1 is spot on.
You’re looking for new opportunities / challenges. Spin it to the positive. Try not to let there be a big gap - otherwise it starts to become obvious that you were asked to leave one firm before joining another.
Big gap? Found a startup. Only you know what really happened.
Yes - in interviews I have been open about one bad move I took which frankly was very much about that I bit of more than could chew trying to fix a bad team (a great learning experience actually). Talking in an interview about being setup to fail is tricky to land well. Bad culture usually resonates by comparison.
