I’ve been battling this for years! It’s so horribly depressing and embarrassing and I’m so sorry that you’re going through this journey. It’s really affected my life. For me, because it’s hereditary, I have very limited options and have been trying to take monox. although ‘the shed’ is real and freakin horrifying at first. I’m about three months in and haven’t seen real results yet. This is the doctor process I went on: general doctor >> dermatologist (try multiple) >> cosmetic dermatologist (try multiple) Good luck!
My derm prescribed me spironolactone and I also do PRP scalp treatments! Helps a bit but not as much as I wish it would for the price
Me too! I’ve been looking up hair loss supplements and came across a few. Has any tried Viviscal or Nutrafol? They seem to be backed by clinical trials.
PwC 2 — it’s a liquid supplement. I was skeptical but I heard a lot of success stories so I took the plunge. I’m seeing SO much regrowth since starting ~6 months ago. Consistency is key. https://www.modere.com/shopall/collagen-sciences/cs-shop-all-collagen-sciences
Yes!! I just did this. He prescribed prescription strength rogaine (hasn’t helped much because I’m not good about using it every night plus it makes my hair gross), and a procedure called PRP. I’m having that done in December. I’m taking nutrafol (just started) and taking collagen - 2 scoops - daily, I heard that helps.
Do you have long hair? I think mine got a bit better when I stopped pulling my hair into a bun/pony all day. Hair loss is closely connected to stress and diet too. So I’d try to address those things first.
See if you do can do LLLT. It has helped lessen the fallout and thicken what I do have. Doc recommends this over PRP. Also says stem cell treatments looks promising for the future. He also recommends rogaine and nutrafol but I skip this regimen because I'm not good at doing it everyday. For reference, I have hereditary and stress-induced hair loss.
Get on heydoctor.com to get a prescription for finesteride. You can get a full years subscription for less than usd80 if you apply a goodrx coupon to your prescription. Hair loss shouldn't an unresolvable or unaffordable issue

Yes! My dermatologist actually noticed it before I did. I thought I just had different textured hair on my head. I've been on Rx (pill), Rx (ointment) and Rogaine for several months now. I see a huge difference and he noted some medical changes as well. I really hope all is well within another year or 2. Thankfully you can't really tell unless you're feeling it or parting the hair in a specific way. I've been taking advantage of WFH to wear hairstyles that don't pull.

Omg I want to shout this from the rooftops— ACUPUNCTURE!!!!! I dealt with hair loss called telogen effluvium several years ago following a death in my immediate family. Hair everywhere after I showered, brushed my hair, etc. Dermatologist and internist tried a few diff supplements, didn’t help. Several acupuncture treatments and it stopped completely.
