For anyone using Khan Academy and Canvas I made a free application built on a Google Spreadsheet that reads in Khan Academy CSV files and sends the scores to the Canvas gradebook. Demo video below and link to site. Hope it helps someone! The setup takes a bit but it has made grading Khan exercises so much easier and quicker.

check your car’s warranty as some do not allow you to use chains as they damage the vehicle. i have snow socks which are allowed instead of chains and do not do damage.
buy chains (or socks) before the trip.
and yes there can be snow in december in arrowhead.

Good advice - if you have an all-wheel drive German car you almost certainly cannot safely put chains on it - will damage the transmission.
Know your vehicle
It depends. Check the weather apps or the ski resort snow report. The road getting up there is treacherous. Drive safely.

Check for snow chain mandates. Also don’t buy snow chains at the base of Arrowhead, they mark up the prices there.
Also, if you don’t know how to put the chains on, there’s usually an area on the road where people will put them on for you for like $20—worth it in my opinion.

Do you need chains if you have AWD?

CHP controls the stops, and the standard signage says 4WD/AWD is allowed if you have snow tires. Most of us in SoCal don’t have snow tires. On my last car I made sure to have mud and snow-rated all-season tires. My current car has a weird size that they don’t make them for, so I’m SOL since I’m not gonna keep multiple sets of tires around for at most a couple of trips per year.
Get M+S rated tires for your SUV and you should be good for any conditions possible at big bear/arrowhead
