Anyone been to Hawaii recently and can share their travel experience? Planning on going to oahu then Maui and wanted to know how easy it as to get tested and get your covid results back. I respect all the travel restrictions but don’t know if it’s worth the hassle/stress

Definitely worth it. Made the trip in December. Just need to get the covid test and produce negative result within 72 hours of departing flight to Maui. Once you receive the results, you need to immediately upload to the Hawaii portal as per the instructions. You’ll receive a QR code which is required to be shown once you land in Maui. It’s a seamless process and definitely worth making the trip to Maui. We are trying to go again!

Agree it’s worth it! If you’re planning to stay on Oahu for a bit just be aware you might need an additional covid test before your Maui flight. You’ll need one within 72hrs of coming to Oahu and you’ll also need one within 72hrs of going to Maui. If Oahu is just a quick layover you’re probably fine with a single test, but if you’re spending any time here you should make plans to get re-tested before you island hop.

Worth it! Here now....staying in Kona. Had to take a test and upload negative results before boarding flight. We used Vault for our COVID test, which cost $119, but was easy and reliable. If you are connecting via HNL build in plenty of time between flights. The line to exit the gates and get to the next terminal took about 30-40 minutes. We also had to rapid test again at KOA when we arrived. This was provided by the state and was super quick and easy.

To echo the above, definitely worth it. Just know that everyone is thinking the same (half the people I know from the West Coast are in Hawaii) so definitely look into accommodations early. They’re getting pricey with very low supply

Thanks all! Are activities/restaurants open or are you mostly just chillin on the beach?

So I had a some friends who went to Cabo, and when they returned they all(7) took the covid test and came back positive. 5 days later, no one was showing any symptoms so they all went to another clinic and they took the test and they all tested negative. Don’t get me wrong, I wear a mask and take precautions, but when you hear stories like this, you wonder how much of these reported numbers are manipulated or incorrect.
