Recently joined a consulting firm and have a corporate AmEx now. I am planning on paying the $95 fee to get the points from corporate expenses. I also have only a chase sapphire preferred. Is it worth picking up a Gold or Platinum card to pool all the points in one place? I eat out a lot and mostly redeem points for statement credit or the occasiaonl hotel room (use Marriott). Don’t do a ton of personal flying. Thanks in advance.

Almost 4 weeks in and my status is still wrong. It was correct for the first ~1 day and then bumped down a level. Shouldn’t be hard as all my nights last year were SPG. This is ridiculous.

I read the fine print and other than a need to be flexible in terms of when you book, it doesn’t seem like there is a catch. Anyone familiar with this “promotion” and what the downside might be? Or are they just looking to drive revenue to their other areas (restaurants, spa, etc) with a cheap room?

Hi! Doing a Ragnar with girlfriends and one of the girls booked a hotel in the Duluth, MN (where we finish) for the night after our race. We have 3 rooms booked at a Marriott, I have 10 suite upgrade nights...can I use 3 of them for 3 diff rooms on same night? Can I use them for a reservation that isn't under my name/am I able to change it to my name? Thx for any insights!

Change my mind: PLA leadership does not care about the PLA employees. I have more than 90% utilization for this year and at the end have received a paltry 3.75% comp raise. Where is all the money that the firm made this year going to? I will not be surprised if all the MDs have consumed most of the profits and have left peanuts for the employees. Where is the transparency in the comp numbers that we asked for? We have just received lip service in return to these questions.

Tomorrow they are requiring masks again and I was almost in tears when I found out. We have been mask free (recommended) since June and I feel like we are being muzzled again.
