Anyone been to the US Open this year? Care to share your experience (with covid protocols etc) - got tickets for today and with the rain, all the players dropping out and everything else, I don’t think I can be bothered

Don’t worry about players dropping out. There are still so many exciting people to go watch. Weather will depend on what you have tickets for. As someone said above, I’d you have tickets to Ashe, it has a roof and you’ll be able to watch. If you have tickets to outer courts, definitely check weather report. Covid protocol is just proof of vax, so unless you’re uncomfortable by that or don’t want to deal with crappy weather, I’d go in a heart beat

I went on Monday. Showed my proof of vaccination to the people checking before the entrance. Other than that, similar experience to the ones I’ve had pre-covid with the exception that some people are wearing masks. It was more crowded than I expected with all the big stars dropping out. Ashe and Armstrong both have retractable roofs so if you have a ticket to either of those courts, you’ll be fine with the rain. It was still fun and exciting if that’s what you’re wanting to know.

like

I went today, it was not crowded and the rain held off. Given that it wasn’t crowded it was a really pleasant experience… no fighting for seats on the outside first come first serve courts either.

like

If you have a ticket for Ashe there is a roof so you’ll see tennis. Players dropped out before the tournament started, minus like Korda who pulled out from his match

Going Saturday night and giving it all a second thought too.

The only Covid protocol is to show proof of vax, very simple

Just got tickets for weds quarters. Never been before but I’d love to hear how it has been this year.

One year ago this weekend my mother was dying of Covid 2000 miles away from me. On Mother's Day we were told to make a decision to either consent to an invasive surgery that may do nothing or put her on hospice. She died on her own while my siblings and I tried to decide. I need to crawl into a cave this weekend until this holiday passes.

I am a partner in Canada and have been offered a role in USA with a bigger buss unit but a level down in the org chart. I can live anywhere in USA and part time in Canada. My boyfriend can move to USA with me but my daughter is in west coast who is 20. Since Covid I have spent more time with her. I have worked a lot with American partners but not clients. Thoughts on how I would be received as a leader being a Canadian woman in USA. About 2000 people in BU.

I was dating someone for about 2.5 years and then we broke up because of COVID and the long distance was making it too difficult to continue. After we broke up, she started seeing someone else but I was heartbroken and it’s taken me over a year to really get over everything and process those feelings. (Cont.)

I’m a business/commercial lawyer with 8 years experience looking to relocate to Chicago from NYC area, while also trying to make the jump to in-house after only ever working at a boutique firm. It’s been 5 months and I haven’t had any luck applying to job postings on the usual sites (no calls, no interviews, nothing). I can’t tell if this is due to covid, the market, the fact that I don’t have any in-house experience, the fact that I live out of state, or something else entirely. Any insights??

I probably only work about a solid 2 hours a day since COVID

Can anyone suggest how to get approval for work from home during my bench time. I am very much tensed

Recently ended a 3+ yr relationship (were both mid 20s and living together for just under 2 years) bc of him buying an engagement ring yet not proposing and waffling about our future. After 2 weeks I brought up that there’s a lot of good in us that maybe worth trying to work on (counseling etc). He wants space first and asked me to not wait for him as he sorts out his emotions and “tries to be happy again” (COVID depression and 100hr work weeks). Then he’ll decide if he wants to try again

This might be a dumb question but I'm looking for inputs regarding career.
My bachelor's is in mechanical engineering and masters in aerospace engineering. Currently I'm a flight test engineer, been working as one for the last 6 years. Other than working airplanes, it's a lot of getting people together, getting requirements for test and executing test plans. I was wonder what other positions can I qualify for? Program manager? Systems integrations? Any advice or input is appreciated.

I have a lot of student debt from law school. I’ve refinanced a couple of times and received the best fixed rate available, but I’ve seen others refinance with a variable rate which of course is lower. I’ve read some other comments of people refinancing at a super low variable rate....isn’t this risky? Of course I am afraid of going variable and then the interest rates going up a lot. Am I missing something?
