Anyone can speak to the culture of Amazon’s accounting? They’ve been hiring like crazy and I started to wonder if this is a good exit option. I know it’s a big team, but any insights are highly appreciated!

I’m interested at well. I applied for a tax position, but haven’t heard back.

As I understand it from some friends who work there, it trends towards being the big 4 of the tech industry. I have heard pros and cons, apparently worth while if you can stick it out in the long term. Definitely a grind.

No problem - sorry it’s not a better answer. I also considered the shift, but thought twice after hearing that.

Not sure if pip is as common as tech roles. Heard there is a strong pip culture in engineering teams.

Hey, I have applied to a job at EY for Risk assurance. My academics are pretty good and I'm pursuing ACCA with BCom, with a year of internship experience as well. I have tried to apply but I think a referral would really help. Please dm me for referrals. Would be happy to speak on linkedin as well and send my job ID as well.

Junior cap markets associate at a V25 and I'm on track this month to bill 280+ hrs at my current rate and more in October. I'm miserable doing deal work with a group I have shown zero interest in from day 1, but the group I am interested in has been slow over the summer. I dream of going in-house as a mid-level at a non-bank. What are some firms that do company work, i.e., have client companies and do general corporate work for them? Bonus points if tech or energy industry clients!

Working on a winnable motion in a case with the worst facts for me ever. (Legal technicality). Just gonna go full blown B Rabbit in the last rap battle of 8 mile in the first paragraph. “Yes my client lied. Yes records were destroyed. I do not have the moral high ground. I’m still standing here citing this statute saying dismiss this case. Go ahead and tell the judge something he doesn’t know about me.” *mic toss*

Expecting our first in about 6-8 weeks. Both my wife and I work at places with strong parental leave policies. We are considering staggering our leaves (I’d take a couple weeks right when the baby is born, then go back to work until her leave runs out, then go out) to save $$ on child care. Would also have a bit of family help during the first 4-6 weeks as well. Any experienced dads think this is a bad idea?
