Anyone care to share their Tech -> MBB stories? How easy is it to sell a STEM background/advanced technical skills for a consulting role? Did you need to get an MBA?

What are the daily hours like for larger transformation cases at MBB - are they less burn than traditional “strategy” cases and if so by how much?

Really want to exit consulting, but all I have experience in is making PowerPoint slides for our cloud practice…

I have four years of audit experience and jumping firms to get a manager title because I can. Even if I do get a manager role, I feel like I might not be ready yet. I have done many audits from beginning to finish by myself, but there will be area I am not completely comfortable. Were you very ready when you were promoted to manager? I came from a company with really strong culture —high energy, emphasis on human connection, high EQ. My new team is SO DRY! They don’t know each other well despite having worked together for a couple years now. They have forced meetings to build culture, but it ends up being everyone taking turns saying facts about themselves. Lots of awkward pauses during small talk.

Would you accept a title loss to move from T2 to MBB? Really good impression from practice and partners, however would bump from Manager to Senior Consultant level.

Up for promo ~12 months post joining, with initial hit in comp being mitigated with signing bonus. Would be a bump as soon as promo goes through.

However would mean ~1yoe seniority loss (although quite early in career)
