i have the same concern but I only have one newborn and I want to find the solution too.

Start bed training now - you have plenty of time. It takes a few weeks.

Yep! I did it with my first and about to do it again with my second (clearly “planning” is not my forte 😂). Definitely make sure you have expectations chats with your partner up front, especially with 2 kids, but it’s busy season so my plan is to have a few family hours before my toddler goes to bed and then my husband will be on baby duty while I get a little more work in. There’s no perfect answer. I would recommend starting to train the baby to go to sleep on their own…it’s a rough few nights usually while they figure it out but eventually it will click! Start putting them down when they are drowsy but not asleep so they learn to go to sleep themselves, and eventually it will click when they wake up too. Good luck, and hopefully if nothing else it helps knowing that I’m in the same boat!

I recommend ‘Taking Cara Babies’. It’s a gentle version for sleep training. Worked well with my now 9 month old. I came back 2nd week of January with my first and it was one of my worst busy seasons (I’ve had 8 of them). Not because of hours, but because my house couldn’t stay healthy because of the new daycare germs. That plus lack of sleep and the stress of busy season - just absolutely terrible. Maybe with this being your second, the germs won’t hit you guys as hard. But definitely make sure you have conversations about expectations and make sure you set boundaries for yourself and only work what fits into your schedule.

I’d think about what’s your “new” window of work availability and communicate with your team accordingly. So you used to take a break 5-8 pm, and then worked 8-10 pm, or something like that? What could you reasonably do now? Did you used to do daycare pickup and toddler dinner, and your husband could do that now instead, so you can work? Or maybe you go to bed early (10 pm right after your baby does?), and get up an hour earlier than you used to, to work then? Or your husband does the morning breakfast, etc routine, while you work? During busy season I definitely rely way more on my husband to cover things I cover the rest of the year (pick ups, dinner, etc), but of course depends on your husband’s work schedule and his ability to do that. Also, in general, don’t stress if (when!!) you can’t give as much to work as you used to - yes it’s busy season, but that can mean 50 hours instead of 80 hours!! It’s OK to not be able to give as much to work as you used to. Priorities change. I personally went on an FWA when I had kids, so maybe that’s a possibility as well.

Should synthetic abortion be a thing? I.e. it is made legal for a man to declare before a judge that he wants no part in a child’s life prior to the child being born. He then has no requirement to pay child support but will also never have the right to see the child. Essentially, it’s abortion from the male side. If both man and woman are required to create a pregnancy, but only the woman gets a say after that if the child will be born, is that fair to the man?

Alan David: traditional, no BS, very professional 10/10 Michael Andrews: slightly less value for money, same fabrics, outsourced bespoke, light BS due to flashy showroom 8/10 Enzo Custom: stylish and fashion-forward, good value, in-between M2M and bespoke, flashy in a good way 9/10 (Subjective and based on personal experience.)
