Not to be cocky, but do you consultants really get into investing teams? I was a SC for 4 months (small shop) then banking 1.5 years at jpm. Now at a 2.5bn fund on the investment team. All the people I know at PE shops come from banking or have pre mba PE experience. Where did you come from if not the traditional route?

Studied CS at a non target. Currently at a big 4 doing Tech Strategy and Ops. Just finished my first year. What roles/exits should I be looking for next If I want to eventually get to the buy side a few years from now.

I’m client side now at a big corporation’s in-house agency and I cannot imagine going back to 60+ hour weeks, low pay, minimal benefits, and the uncertainty/anxiety of agency life.
