Anyone deal w/ having too many cooks in the kitchen? I get tired of so many rounds of feedback & people having differing opinions. How to keep your head up when it happens on almost every project? 😅

Talk to your boss. It’s really senior management’s job to manage all the internal bs and allow you to just be a great designer. Ask if there’s a way to reduce the amount of layers and opinions, or the amount of meetings you need to attend. But make it about how it can benefit them, not just you complaining. Let them know you can deliver higher quality work to clients without all the internal red tape.

Who is this person? A boss or an account person or someone else? Again, this should all be managed through your boss. They are allowing too much of the internal bs to get to you and it’s preventing you from properly doing your job. I would lay out the issues for your boss, and even better offer potential solutions. Like “Consolidated feedback from all departments would help ensure more timely delivery and better work...” etc.

My boss is the one who spends the most time giving me feedback (usually 3-5 rounds on each project). Thank you!

How do you get used to it?

Is it normal to get 5+ rounds of feedback from the same person too? I feel like I’m doing my best but she’ll come back with feedback to change the changes she had me make, or will throw new changes in that she didn’t say in the first round.

Sometimes this happens at my agency too, but its usually dictated by other people above the CD that's making more changes. It's dumb.

Welcome to the show!!

Hi. I have a question. In a world where COVID is under control, how would you feel if your companies went back to being fully in the office? But maybe others were adopting a hybrid model- some days remote, some days in the office. Would it make you want to work elsewhere? How important is being able to work remote (at a location of your choice, not at client /travelling) a few days a week to your job satisfaction?
