Does your parent have Alzheimer’s? The Alzheimer’s association has a lot of resources for families and a hotline you can call to learn about them. You might consider offering some support to the care giver as well as it can take a larger toll on that person sometimes (eg blue apron, paying for extra care to get a few hours off a week, extra phone calls).

Has anyone heard of the Natalist? I found their Parent Plans book but the only reviews are directly on their site. Alternatively, are there any recommendations for books my husband and I can read to begin preparing to have a child? I can’t just get pregnant and figure it out, I need to try to go in informed (understanding that there’s no way to truly prepare). Expecting Better and Crib Sheets have very polar reviews and don’t quite fit the bill for me. TIA!

So I just got the most fantastic news and I'm not allowed to tell anyone yet. But I'm about to BURST, soooooo... I turn to my anonymous social media outlet. Lol. My brother and his wife called me today to tell me they're going to have their first baby!!! I can't begin to express what a HUGE deal this is for them and for my family, and the long, difficult road they have been down to get here. I cannot wait to be an aunt!!! 🥰🥰🥰

I go on maternity leave soon, and my firm offers 16 weeks paid leave, which I plan to fully take advantage of. The only female shareholder in our office keeps pushing me to only take 6 weeks though, because that's what she did. I feel really put off by her comments, but its also making me feel guilty about taking the full time. This is mostly a vent, but if anyone wants to give me some words of wisdom or thoughts, I will take them!

What is the parental leave policy at your firm? Please include: (1) size of firm; (2) location of firm; (3) how many paid weeks off (from firm - not state/fed); (4) other perks, such as ramp up/down time, etc.

With 16 weeks parental leave at EY, 1yr no travel after after maternity for ACN, and all the distractions of workers with children, firms should show some love to the yeoman single or childless people

How do you all handle tantrums from your toddler during dinner? We finally made it out to have a socially distanced dinner with a female friend of my husband. Spouse still did not want to cut dinner short (we were already on dessert) and he kept his conversation going. I sat down and baby is grabbing plates (cont)
