I worked for a small company when my daughter was born. It was no problem, I just talked with the company leadership and asked. They let me switch to 32 hours a week. The few weeks of adjustment turned into a couple of years.

I didn’t but I did decrease my hours the first time around. I plan to take a good look at my hours and determine what’s best for me this time around too.
I did this at my previous company after my second son was born. I worked it out with my manager so that I was only working two very specific accounts and I billed hourly. I didn’t have any health benefits to worry about since that was through my husbands work. This was pre-WFH so at the time it was such a luxury to be able to have flex hours, do laundry during the day, make dinner, etc. You just have to be very strict with your boundaries, make sure your teams know approximately what hours you are working and don’t let them try to guilt you into extra work!
