Anyone do alternate day fasting? How did it go?

My current routine is
16/8 IF for 2 days -> 24 hours fast -> 16/8 IF for 2 days

While doing 16/8 i eat only 2 meals and no snacks in between. Eat less then 100g of net carbs. I’m mostly vegetarian, so doing Keto is challenging, but I still managed to lower my carbs intake and increase monounsaturated fats.

Initial first fasts are hard AF. But slowly I got used to it. I dropped 11lb in 3 months with 2% drop in body fat.

Read Fasting by Dr Jason Fung ( if you haven’t already). The book tells good strategies for long fasts

Yes, I eat about 900-1000 calories per meal.
I eat eggs, avocado, cottage cheese with berries and nuts, vegetables, and GF crispbread from Trader Joe’s.

Since fats are calories dense, I hit 1,000 calories per meal.
I eat chicken and fish once in a while and I limit processed carbs.

I did this for about a year straight and liked it a lot. Will definitely take several cycles to get adjusted and start noticing benefits. If you are doing it for weight/fat loss, consider sticking to keto on your recess days and the fat will fall off quickly as you stay in ketosis. I’m currently doing 48 hr fasts followed by a day of refeeding to kickstart back into my routine

Generallly the only ways I suppress hunger when I’m fasting right now are seltzer water and coffee haha

Has anyone had an IVF cycle cancelled? I’m going in for stims day 8 monitoring tomorrow morning and thus far they’ve just told me that due to my lower AMH (1), it just takes time for them to grow.

Went in for my second ultrasound today and no heartbeat at 8 weeks after hearing it at 6.5. Dr. is advising a D&C with genetic testing. Thinking about getting a second scan just to be sure in a few days. Anyone go through this and had a good result? I’m trying to be realistic here but devastated to say the least.

I went to a psychologist and answered an ADHD questionnaire, basically scoring the highest possible score for ADHD. Long story short: the psych told me that since I made it through law school with a decent/good GPA l don’t have ADHD.

Has anyone been told this? I.e., that since you’re a “professional” and have had good grades you don’t have ADHD? I just feel it’s a bit unfair since I had to work myself to the bone just to stay focused and understand the material.

I’ve suffered from workaholism for a long time. Thanks to a lot of great self help books and therapy, I’m no longer putting work on a pedestal and I’m spending a lot more time on self care and my marriage. But, unfortunately, I am now getting withdrawals, because my body is used to the daily adrenaline of throwing myself into work. It’s this terrible feeling of like anguish/unease in my gut, but I don’t have anything I’m worried about- it’s like my body wants to find something to worry about.

Has anyone here used the EAP for therapy? I have called at least 10 in-network mental health providers and none of them accept the EAP program. Is there an easier way to find the list of EAP providers other than calling them 1 by 1.? fYI- UHC said they don’t have any other way.

I was working out with a trainer before covid, getting in the best shape of my life when everything closed down, got depressed and put on 20 pounds of fat just sitting around eating everyday. Got up to 252 which is the most I've ever weighed.

Currently 231.8 as of today.
