Anyone doing a work uniform?
I’ve thought about it before but never fully committed. I realize how picking out clothes in the morning is just one more time suck disadvantage for (some) women (like me)

Yes. Black. 4 tops and bottoms, all in a slightly different style but pretty similar. It’s the best work related decision I ever made.

I’m a boots or flats lady.

I’m the same way. I’ve found that I like to pick out a specific style of shirts (ex. Tunic long sleeves in winter) and just interchange between a few them with black leggings or jeans.

like

Dresses. Put one on, done. Sandals or ballerina flats in the summer, boots in winter.

like

But in the winter you need tights. So it’s the same as pants and a top. Unless you live somewhere warmer. But yes, in general, dresses are very practical.

I don’t do a uniform but I work off the same basic formula every weekday and it’s made getting dressed in the morning easier, faster and less stressful for me. It’s mostly high-waisted black jeans, black boots, an unfussy top (meaning something I won’t be annoyed about during the day) and a leather jacket, denim jacket, a bomber or maybe a vest over the top of that. There are some variations, and it gets less simple when it’s warmer out, but those are the basics.

I plan what to wear the night before or I'll never get into the office. I lay out the clothes on a chair. Took about 10 years to finally get to that level of organization. I love wearing different clothes so a uniform would never work for me but planning the outfit at night without feeling rushed and being at peace in the a.m. that it's figured out, and I still get to dress differently, has really helped feel good.

like

Black and white clothes and nice bold accessories.

like

Jeans (black or blue), white shirt, various jackets, bags, boots/shoes to add a bit of variety.

This is me.

My pregnancy wardrobe is a uniform... only purchased pieces in white, black or grey to make sure the pieces would see me through and all pair together. Game changer, especially considering I can’t even fit into my maternity jeans now 😂

like

😂 Omg I realized what happened to me now! I’m doing the same! I just didn’t think it was because of pregnancy (black, white and grey), but it totally is!

Mm La fluer has a great blog post about this. They’re clothes are a little pricey, but easy to style multiple different ways

like

yes. button downs and jeans, pair with skirts in the summer. brown or black flats depending on the color very liz lemon.

like

Black all day. Add in neutrals selectively.

I just never could quite figure out how to put one together with the right pieces. Any tips/inspiration much appreciated!

My 2 roommates want a dog. As a previous pet-owner I realize just how much of a responsibility they are. Between our hectic lifestyles & highly demanding jobs (we also do have nicer things in our apartment) I don’t think it would be an intelligent decision at this point. I can’t commit to a schedule of daily walks, etc. I mentioned this to my therapist & she got enraged @ me saying that I HAVE to take the dog on a walk if they can’t. I’m like “uh. I don’t want the dog.” Am I the crazy one here?

What do you think makes an agency toxic? I think it’s when management listens to every little piece of gossip and encourages backstabbing. At least that’s what I’m experiencing now. They schedule a lot of 1:1 meetings to seemingly check-in. But instead of helping, they use the time to talk about coworkers not in the room and ask what I think of them and how I think they’re going. And of course they’re prob doing the same think behind my back. 🙄

I keep being told to just “act like one of the guys to be liked” this advice feels old and gross.

Has anyone done this and do they regret it?
